Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC is a fund of private equity funds established to promote the sustainable development of the national economy. Our activity is directed towards creating private equity infrastructure in Kazakhstan, attracting foreign investments in priority sectors of the economy, using leading international experience and transferring innovative knowledge and technologies to private equity.

Prerequisite for Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC (QIC) establishment is the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to create a Fund of private investment funds, announced in the annual address to the people of Kazakhstan on February 28, 2007. Pursuant to the President's order, the Board of Directors of Sustainable Development Fund Kazyna JSC decided to establish QIC on March 7, 2007.

In partnership with international institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and international financial institutions, QIC invests and manages private equity funds. QIC provides capital to companies in various sectors of the economy for further growth and competitiveness.

QIC partners include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), International Finance Corporation (IFC), CITIC Group, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Eurasian Development Bank (EBD), Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Macquarie Group, Mubadala international investment company, Dutch Development Fund (FMO Entrepreneurial Development Bank), Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ) and other investors.

For the efficient management of portfolio funds, QIC attracts international management companies with many years of successful experience in the industry. Thus, through the transfer of international experience, innovative knowledge, advanced technologies and management strategies in the field of private equity, QIC strives to develop financing instruments, create sustainable private equity infrastructure and build up the internal competencies of QIC team.

Since its foundation, QIC has been a key player and driver of the direct investment market in Kazakhstan. To date, QIC is a member of 19 private equity funds with a total capitalization exceeding KZT 1 tln. During the years of activity, over 50 partnerships with international investment institutions have been created, Baiterek Venture Fund JSC - a subsidiary captive fund and BV Management LLP - management company have been founded.
